Concert Features Holiday Music

The University of West Georgia will present a Holiday Concert featuring music ensembles and choirs on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8:15 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.

The University of West Georgia will present a Holiday Concert featuring music ensembles and choirs on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8:15 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts.Under the direction of Drs. Kevin Hibbard, Doug Overmier and Cale Self, the concert will be a cornucopia of holiday favorites including “The Nutcracker,” White Christmas” and “Sleigh Ride.”

Also featured will be “Greensleeves” performed by guitarist Joel Jackson, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” sung by soprano Joy Anderson, and selections by the Jazz Percussion Group and Shades of Red, a female vocal jazz ensemble.
