Fall commencement was held in The Coliseum on Saturday to a standing-room-only crowd. Approximately 640 undergraduate and graduate students received their diplomas with three students receiving a doctorate degree. 500 students walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.
Neely Young, publisher of Georgia Trend Magazine, and UWG President Beheruz N. Sethna offered encouragement and sage advice to the graduating class of 2009. Live music performed by the Commencement Band entertained the audience and Professor Larry Frazier performed the Alma Mater.
The university is a leading, residential, doctoral-comprehensive institution that offers a broad undergraduate and graduate curriculum based on a liberal arts foundation.
