Fans can “Paint it Blue” or wear a “Howl-o-ween” costume to this Thursday night’s final home game against archrival Valdosta. The traditional wearing of blue whenever the Valdosta team comes to town shouts Wolves Spirit with blue-painted hair and faces, hats and shirts.
Kickoff time for the regionally televised battle is set for 7 p.m. in University Stadium with television coverage beginning at 8 p.m. The game will be shown in its entirety, “plausibly live” on CSS and other regional cable outlets as part of the GSC-TV Live package.
To make the “Paint it Blue Night” even more exciting, community youth, UWG students and faculty and staff are invited to participate in the first “Howl-o-ween” costume contest and parade during half time. Cash prizes for the best costumes will be awarded and children in costume and an accompanying adult will receive free admission.
Costumed fans may check in at the judging table under the blue and white tent at the entrance of the stadium site between 6 and 6:30 p.m. and will need to sit on the visitor’s side to be eligible.
The following prizes will be awarded:
- Age 6 and under - Best Costume - $25
- Age 7 to 12 - Best Costume - $25
- Teenagers - Best Costume - $50
- UWG Student - Most Creative Costume - $150
