The University of West Georgia concluded its Annual Fund Campaign on Thursday, Oct. 22, with a victory celebration to thank donors who made the fund-raising effort a success.
UWG officials announced that this year’s campaign brought in $410,836 for student scholarships.
UWG is proud of the work of donors and volunteers, who worked hard to collect donations amid difficult economic circumstances. And even though this year’s Annual Fund Campaign has officially concluded, people who are interested in donating to the university are still welcome to do so.
The Annual Fund Campaign this year shifted its emphasis to an ongoing, year-round strategy that seeks to involve alumni, businesses and volunteers from throughout the state and nationally.
Money raised for the Annual Fund supports aid-based and academic-merit scholarships, as well as the undergraduate research assistance program, which is a component of UWG’s nationally recognized academic research program.
