Saturday, September 5, will be UWG’s first home football game in the University Stadium.  This is a big event for the university and for the West Georgia community and whether a football fan or not, everyone can acknowledge that the opening of the new stadium is exciting and historic.

Saturday, September 5, will be UWG’s first home football game in the University Stadium. This is a big event for the university and for the West Georgia community and whether a football fan or not, everyone can acknowledge that the opening of the new stadium is exciting and historic. With this in mind, UWG and the Wolves Sports Network are hosting its first-ever Pep Growly, what unfortunate Wolves-deprived institutions call a 'pep rally', on Friday, September 4, at 3 p.m. in The Coliseum.

Accompanied by the sounds of the UWG Marching Band and cheers from the top Division II cheerleaders in the nation, UWG Cheer, Wolves fans will be treated to hours of school spirit and fun.

A “Best Howler” and “Craziest Fan” competition, more than 1,200 Wolves Stadium Cups handed out as door prizes, and a best banner contest are just a few of the activities planned for the Growly.

September 4 is also College Colors Day, an annual national celebration of school spirit across America when people wear their favorite college or university colors throughout the day. Fans of UWG and the Wolves are encouraged to wear red and blue all day.
