ZinG! is a secret group of six UWG students charged with making UWG a better place by spreading school spirit. ZinG!’s first public appearance will be at a Wolves Pep Growly on Friday, Sept. 4, from 3-5 p.m. in The Coliseum one day before the football begins in the new University Stadium. Zing! will work in concert with Untamed (a spirit organization for athletics), Wolfie the Mascot, cheerleaders, and anyone else on campus interested in increasing the level of school spirit at UWG.

There is something very special about West Georgia, and ZinG! is designed to help students, faculty, staff and community members remember the specialness by becoming a tradition for which UWG can be proud.  Although the identities of the members are secret — the purpose of the group is very public and clear — school spirit!

ZinG! will promote school spirit in a multitude of ways.  They will place signs around campus supporting athletic teams, highlight important university events and congratulate students, faculty and staff for jobs well done.  You will also see them unexpectedly showing up at university events and activities and maybe even just walking around campus helping people get excited about West Georgia!

The six secret members include two seniors, two juniors and two sophomores who are masked as the Cat in the Hat, Shrek, Bart Simpson, the Geico Caveman, Spiderman and former president Bill Clinton.  Their identities will be completely concealed until the end of their senior year when they are “unmasked.”

Two new members will be added at the end of their freshman year by a selection process involving current members, the ZinG! advisor and alumni of the group.
Come and cheer the Wolves, and witness the unfolding of a new tradition!
