Ticket Blitz Begins

The scoreboard is up, the sound booth is built and the seats are in. The new University Stadium  is getting closer to its grand home game opening on September 5, and to prepare for the momentous event and make certain no fan will miss out, the University of West Georgia will kick off its 2009 West Georgia Wolves Football Season Ticket Blitz beginning on Monday, July 27.

Season tickets will be sold at venues throughout Carrollton with full season ticket books available at $60 for chair back seats in several prime sections and $50 for bleacher seats. 

Associate Athletics Director Eddie Duffey said he is looking forward to meeting and greeting local fans during the Ticket Blitz. 

“We’re looking forward to the Blitz as a great opportunity to meet with and interact with our local fans,” said Duffey. “We want our local community to be a part of our program and the excitement we’re building for this historic season. We have some great seats available, and we want our local fans there on September 5 and all season long.”

The first of the Ticket Blitz events is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Food Lion of Carrollton on Maple Crossing. Duffey and other representatives from the UWG athletics department will be on hand and will return the following Monday on August 3. 

Other Ticket Blitz stops for the next two weeks include Chick-fil-A, located on Highway 27, on Tuesdays, July 28 and August 4, from 5 – 7:30 p.m.; O’Charley’s, located on Highway 27, on Wednesdays, July 29 and August 5, 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m; and Adamson Square on Thursdays, July 30 and August 6, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 6 -8:30 p.m.

Pre-season drills for Wolves Football begin on August 6 with a campus welcome from Athletics Director and Coach Daryl Dickey. UWG begins its 2009 football season August 29 at Wingate, NC for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
