Dr. Linda Haynes, associate professor of Media and Instructional Technology, has been named associate dean for assessment and sponsored projects in UWG’s College of Education.
Haynes will replace Dr. Angela Coleman, who has accepted a position at the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents in Atlanta.
In announcing the changes, Dr. Kim K. Metcalf, dean of the College of Education, praised Coleman as “a tremendous colleague, a good and trusted friend and an insightful member of our team.”
Coleman has served as associate dean since last fall and has led the early work in conceptualizing and organizing that office.
Metcalf said Haynes brings a “wealth of experience in evaluation and assessment, the management of externally funded grants or contracts and university administration.”
Haynes has also served as chairwoman of the Faculty Governance Committee.
The changes will take effect Aug. 1, but Haynes and Coleman will work in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition, Metcalf said.
