Following its successful launch in Buckhead and Cobb and Gwinnett Counties, the University of West Georgia Wolves 2009 Summer Caravan returns this week for a promotional tour for the upcoming athletic season July 13 - 16.
All events will begin at 6 p.m. and West Georgia alumni, fans and friends are welcome to attend.
This week’s Caravan will stop at Newnan, Monday, July 13, at the original Sprayberry’s Barbecue at 229 Jackson Street; Douglasville, Tuesday, July 14, at O’Charley’s Restaurant on Chapel Hill Road; LaGrange, Wednesday, July 15, at LaFayette Garden Inn on LaFayette Parkway; and Fayetteville, Thursday, July 16, at the Speedy Pig BBQ.
UWG Associate Athletic Director Eddie Duffey, who heads the Caravan, expects to build on the momentum of last week’s successful launch.
“We were all encouraged by the enthusiasm from our supporters,” said Duffey. “The response has been outstanding and our fans are awesome. It is an exciting time.”
In addition to the opening of The Coliseum, a 7,000-seat sports venue, the university will celebrate the opening of a new stadium this fall.
