As the University Stadium construction gets closer to completion, an undeniable excitement is building in the local community for University of West Georgia athletic program.
“To help build on the growing enthusiasm, UWG will take its message to a wider audience,” said Associate Athletic Director Eddie Duffey.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us as a department to go into communities and meet our supporters,” said Duffey. “We’re really excited about it.”
The traveling Wolves Caravan is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 30, at Maggiano’s in Buckhead. Joining Duffey at the events will be interim director of athletics and head football coach Daryl Dickey and other members of the West Georgia athletic program. It will be a time to meet and greet UWG alumni, friends and fans, said Duffey.
“We will spend time socializing and then we will make a brief presentation on our vision for the future of the athletics program at West Georgia,” said Duffey. “We also want to give our supporters the opportunity to partner with us in that vision.”
Other Wolves Caravan visits will include Marietta’s Indian Hills Country Club on July 8, Gwinnett County at the 1818 Club in Duluth on July 9 and the Coweta County Fairgrounds in Newnan on July 13.
More Wolves Caravan stops will be added to the schedule soon. For more information on UWG athletic programs, go to http://www.uwgsports.com/.
