Clark Named Dean of Graduate School

Dr. Charles “Skip” Clark has been named the new dean to the Graduate School at the University of West Georgia. Clark has served as interim dean of the school since July 2006 and as chair of the Department of History for five years.

Dr. Charles “Skip” Clark has been named the new dean to the Graduate School at the University of West Georgia. Clark has served as interim dean of the school since July 2006 and as chair of the Department of History for five years.Born and raised in Denver, Clark earned his doctorate in medieval history from the University of Colorado at Boulder and taught 18 years in North Carolina before moving to Carrollton in 2001 to chair the history department.

Clark's academic and research interests include the history of science and medicine, the intellectual and social history of medieval continental and early modern Europe and the history of Tudor/Stuart England.

“I look forward to the challenges and opportunities to continue to make graduate education a vibrant part of the university,” said Clark.
