Dr. Mark Mathabane, who is a New York Times bestselling author and South African native, will be coming to the University of West Georgia to discuss his life story. Mathabane will be speaking in the Campus Center Ballroom 108.2 on Oct. 6 at 8:30 p.m.
Mathabane, who grew up in South Africa during the apartheid, has written several books, including his autobiography, which ranked number three on the New York Times bestsellers list. He has also made appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King and many other television programs.
His story of triumph against all odds has inspired people world wide. His novels have been translated into several languages, and his journey to America has touched the hearts of readers.
