The results are in for the traditional fall 5K Run for UWG.
Aubrey Bennett, 13, of Temple, was the female winner with a time 21:15. The male winner was West Georgia student Shawn Matthews, whose time was 17:35.
The run benefits the UWG Annual Fund. Community and Southern Bank sponsors the run, which allows all of the registration fees to go into the annual fund, said Frank Pritchett, the director of alumni relations and annual giving.
“You could not have asked for more perfect weather for the runners,” Pritchett said. “Everyone seemed to have had a great time and we are already making plans for next year.”
In the Masters Division, Kristen Faber was the female winner with a time of 26:34; James Chandler was the male winner with a time of 21:08.
In the Grand Masters, Carol Hogan, was the female winner with a time of 26:34; Marty Miller was the male winner, with a time of 22:06.
The youngest runner was seven-year-old Braedon Russell, whose time was 25:37. Frank Alford, 81, was the oldest. His time was a 38:59.
The winners of the overall, masters and grandmasters divisions as well as Russell and Alford each received a hand-thrown bowl by retired West Georgia art professor Cameron Covert.
The top three finishers in 14 age categories received gold, silver or bronze medallions.
