Honors Day at the University of West Georgia will celebrate the academic achievement of its students throughout the day on Wednesday, April 1. An Honors Convocation ceremony will begin the celebration of educational excellence at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts at 1:30 p.m.
The awards ceremony will be followed by an Honors Day music recital at 3:30 p.m. in Kathy Cashen Recital Hall in the Humanities Building. Admission is free and the community is invited to attend.
The event is part of the university-wide Honors Day festivities and features undergraduate student performers and academic award winners in the Department of Music.
Other award ceremonies on Honors Day include the Departments of Geosciences, English and Philosophy, and History. Many of the students will receive scholarships to continue their studies in the next academic year.
