Join Baby Bear, Mama Bear and Papa Bear on Friday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. as Goldilocks turns their world upside down at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. In a new twist to this timeless classic, Goldilocks is caught on tape and taught a lesson by the bears and the audience.Goldilocks is a lively girl who has one big problem.  She can’t keep her hands off other people’s things!  From a jewelry box to a bird’s nest, Goldilocks constantly gets into trouble at home. And then, she wanders off into the woods all alone.

See what happens in that little cottage while the bears are out for a walk. Chairs, beds, bowls – mischief is in the works. A fun filled show for the entire family, young and old will laugh along as everything goes wrong in this fairy tale performance by Birmingham Children's Theatre.

Founded in 1947, the BCT has become one of America's largest professional theatres for young audiences and operates in a three-theatre complex in Birmingham.  The children’s theatre produces eight shows seasonally giving the theatre a combined audience of more than 200,000 each year. With lyrics by Jean Pierce and music by Jay Tumminello, this timeless treasure from children’s literature is a magical journey for ages two to 92.

Dr. Chester and Mrs. Faye Gibson, who believe the lives of children are enriched through the arts, are sponsors of  “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.”

“We are pleased to support the outreach of the Townsend Center to the West Georgia community with programming that is educational and entertaining for families,” said Chester Gibson.  “The university is a terrific destination with a great variety of opportunities for everyone and we are happy to be a part of those activities.”
