Media professionals spent the day at UWG for the 28th annual UWG Media Day, an event that honors and instructs students earning a mass communications degree.
Reporters, broadcasters, publicists and filmmakers participated in panel and workshop discussions throughout the morning and then joined UWG faculty, staff and students at an Honors Luncheon. Guest speaker and alumnae Teresa Whitaker ’85, anchor for WRBL News 3 in Columbus, shared her experiences in the media with students and encouraged them in their fields.
Panelists included Ron Taylor of AccessAtlanta and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution; Eddie Williams III, CNN; Lance Dreesen, Red Five Entertainment, J.J. Jobe of Rusty Walker Programming Consultants and Keisha Lancelin, CW 69 television.
Other media professionals participating in break out sessions included Tom Stinson, AJC sports; Leonard Woolsey and Bruce Browning, Times-Georgian; Casey Nichols ’06, WSB-TV; Steve Gradick, Gradick Communications and Adam Bomb, Q100.
