Prospective Transfer students and their families are invited to a Transfer Preview Day at the University of West Georgia on Friday, March 6, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Located just 45 minutes from Atlanta, the 103-year-old institution boasts a student enrollment of more than 11,000, a beautiful 645-acre campus and state-of-the-art facilities.
The recommended check-in time for Transfer Preview Day is 1 p.m. and takes place in the Technology-enhanced Learning Center. A welcome session follows at 1:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom with an introduction by Director of Admissions Dr. Bobby Johnson, along with welcoming remarks by University President Dr. Beheruz Sethna and UWG student Mandi Nather.
After the welcome session, the Academic and Department Fair will be held from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. The event will spotlight the University’s academic departments as well as the university’s Student Affairs departments.
There will also be an opportunity for visitors to tour the campus from 2- 3:30 p.m. with a 20-minute walking tour highlighting the east side of campus. Several residence halls will also be open for viewing from 3 to 4 p.m. The residence halls open for viewing are Arbor View Apartments, Tyus Hall and the University Suites.
A Transfer Admissions Information Session at 2 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. and a Transfer Credit Information Session at 2:40 p.m. will be held in the Campus Center Ballroom.
At the end of the day, students are also encouraged to visit the University Bookstore, eat at the Food Services Building (Z-6) for $6.50 or visit the Commuter Student Lounge in Room 311 in the University Community Center.
