Eilis Crean, assistant professor of art at the University of West Georgia, opened “Presence,” an exhibit of two current series of paintings, Memorial Wall and Portraits, in the Arnold Gallery at Shorter College. The show is open for viewing through February 20, when Crean will give an artist talk. The two series connect with philosophical issues of presence and being. Crean is a prolific artist whose work is held in state collections in Ireland, Latvia and France and several museums in Georgia. The Arnold Gallery is located inside the Minor Fine Arts Building. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For information, call 706-233-7332.
