An interim leadership team in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations will coordinate the fundraising efforts for the University of West Georgia prior to a national search for an executive director of the University of West Georgia Foundation, Inc.
Inquires concerning philanthropy at UWG should be directed to Nicole Worthington, director of development; Frank Pritchett, associate executive director of alumni relations and annual giving; Bart Gillespie, associate executive director of the UWG Foundation, Inc.; or to the Office of the Vice President of University Advancement.
Former associate vice president for development and alumni relations Dr. Andrew Leavitt returned to the faculty in his capacity as professor of chemistry, effective January 2009.
According to Dr. Michael Ruffner, vice president of University Advancement, a national search for the position will be conducted later in the year.
“Everyone at West Georgia is grateful for the leadership Andy displayed for almost four years in Development and also as the co-interim vice president for University Advancement. He, along with Lisa Ledbetter, stepped up to help fill the void in University Advancement, and distinguished themselves in the process,” Ruffner said.
Worthington, Pritchett and Gillespie may be reached at the UWG Alumni House by phoning 678-839-6582. Ruffner may be reached in the Office of University Advancement at 678-839-6447.
