The Wonder Walkers have participated in the event for several years and UWG served as a sponsor for the first time this year. The event was particularly difficult for the team, having lost two members, Brenda Palmer and Jill Davidson, shortly before the relay. The team set up candle-lit memorials for Palmer and Davidson as the team walked.

Wonder Walkers included Dot Geter, Amy Kent and Melba Haynes, Charlotte Kraft, Chris Young, Gary Palmer, Kerry Sebera, Jane Wood, Carolyn Berry, Vickie Cofield, Renet Jones, Julie Chibbaro, Vicki Rogers, Shirley Barclay, Alex Young, Greta Kirby, Sonya Adams, Julie Adams, Matthew Clay, Chrissy Griffin, Rebecca Harrison, Martha and Richard Larkin, Elaine MacKinnon, Milicent Mack, Elissa Pulliam, Phyllis Snipes and Hunter Wood.
