Meeting of the Minds

The University of West Georgia and the Department of English and Philosophy will host a Meeting of the Minds on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the Kathy Cashen Recital Hall. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.

The University of West Georgia and the Department of English and Philosophy will host a Meeting of the Minds on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the Kathy Cashen Recital Hall. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.This evening of intellectual stimulation, sponsored by Dr. Janet Donohoe, associate professor of philosophy and director of the philosophy program, will feature a panel discussion among philosophy students representing philosophers known worldwide for their ideas.

Discussing the topic of “What is Beauty?” will be students acting as Plato, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Heidegger and Hans.

The topic discussion and performance will be acted out by UWG students Shelley Donaldson, Phillip Brewer and Christopher Pollard of Carrollton; Charles Bauch of Hiram; Matthew Tapley of Douglasville; and Joseph Helgeson of Fayetteville. Anna Potter of Carrollton is directing the event.
