Exhibit Showcases Talented Youth

The Department of Art and the College of Education at the University of West Georgia will host an opening reception for the Sixth Annual West Georgia Young Artists’ Exhibition on Sunday, March 2, from 3 – 4 p.m. in the Education Center. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.

The Department of Art and the College of Education at the University of West Georgia will host an opening reception for the Sixth Annual West Georgia Young Artists’ Exhibition on Sunday, March 2, from 3 – 4 p.m. in the Education Center. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.Three students from local elementary, middle and high schools have been chosen to participate in the exhibition. All participants will be awarded a certificate of recognition for their submissions.

At the reception, six of the artwork pieces will be awarded a purchase prize of $50. These purchased pieces will be displayed in the Education Center main hallway, along with other purchased pieces from the previous years.

In keeping with the College of Education’s new Norman Rockwell exhibit, participants were encouraged to relate their artwork to the style, concepts and ideas of the famous artist. However, students were also encouraged to submit artwork related to other subject matters.
