The Office of Minority Affairs at the University of West Georgia has scheduled a dynamic list of events for Black History month that can be viewed at http://www.westga.edu/minority/. The events are free and the community is invited to attend.
On Tuesday, Feb. 5th, Dr. John Carter, former vice president for corporate resources at AT&T, will lecture on “How to be Successful.” On Wednesday, Feb. 6th, financial advisor Fred O’Neal will talk about “Wealth and the Black Experience.” Both presentations will take place in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts at 8:00 p.m.
The Office of Minority Affairs (OMA) is concerned primarily with enhancing the quality of life for ethnic minority students, faculty, and staff at West Georgia, and in doing so, increasing the quality of life for all in the UWG community.
The office oversees the Multicultural Center and the Black Cultural Resource Center and coordinates diversity training on campus.
