Talented University of West Georgia voice students will perform at the University of West Georgia’s Concert Choir performance on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8:15 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. The students are top performers who came in first in their fields in the annual Concerto Competition held at the university.

“We selected four winners this year that will delight the audience,” said Dr. Kevin Hibbard, professor of music and chair of the Department of Music.

Nominated by their private instructors, each student auditioned for an opportunity to perform concerto movements or vocal aria with orchestral accompaniment.

Selections for the performances will include “Porgi, amor, qualche ristoro” from Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” and “Recondita armonia” from Puccini’s “Tosca.”
