Dr. John Ferling, author, historian and a University of West Georgia Professor Emeritus of History, will be featured on a one-hour National Public Radio program, “John Adams.”
The show, which will air in the spring, will take a look at John Adams and his legacy as lawyer, diplomat, politician, president and scion of a political dynasty. Particular attention will be given to the contentious election of 1800 between Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
Ferling taught history at UWG for 33 years and has written, edited and published 11 books on American history, American politics and Adams. He is considered an expert on the man and was interviewed at the UTV-13 television studio on campus by David D’Arcy, a broadcaster and regular commentator for the BBC, NPR and Canadian Broadcasting. Murray Street Productions in New York City is coordinating the radio documentary.
