Huckaby Named Chancellor-Designate of the University System of Georgia

Hank Huckaby has been named the chancellor-designate of the University System of Georgia by the Board of Regents.Henry “Hank” M. Huckaby has been named the chancellor-designate of the University System of Georgia by the Board of Regents. Huckaby, 69, will take up his duties as the System’s 12th chancellor on July 1, following the June 30 retirement of current Chancellor Erroll B. Davis Jr.

Huckaby was born in Spalding County and grew up in Hapeville. His career has focused on a long record of public service to the state in many areas of government. Huckaby most recently served in the state Legislature, representing Georgia House District 113 as a Republican.
