The University of West Georgia has won an award from the Higher Education Marketing Report for its “Go West” branding campaign.
UWG, with its marketing partner, Mindpower Inc., won a Silver Award in the Radio Advertising/Series category.
Other Georgia schools that were also recognized included: Savannah College of Art and Design, Emory University, Augusta State University and Darton College.
In 2011, the campaign won a coveted Best of Show honor from HEMR. The national competition recognizes the best in educational marketing and advertising. Now in their 27th year, the HEMR awards received more than 2,900 entries from colleges, universities and secondary schools in the 50 states and several foreign countries.
A national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of the Higher Education Marketing Report selected the winners.
UWG’s “Go West” campaign has been repeatedly recognized since it was unveiled in the fall of 2010. Most recently, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education Region III gave the campaign several honors, including the Grand Award for the “Journey West Begins With a Single Step” microsite.
In 2011 the “Go West” television commercials won a prestigious Telly Award. The Telly Awards are the premier honors for outstanding local, regional and national TV commercials and programs.
