The countdown has begun, as the 2012 UWG football season is set to kick off at University Stadium on September 1. This week, all Wolves fans can begin inquiring about season tickets, with season tickets officially open to the public on July 16.
Until July 16, season tickets, parking and hospitality passes will still be available to all donors to the West Georgia Athletic Foundation, but next Monday begins the next season ticket wave for fans who have not given to the WGAF begins. To purchase parking and hospitality passes, a fan must be a WGAF donor.
Once the July 16 deadline passes, fans will have their chance to purchase seats in the Reserved Chairback section for the entire six-game slate of the 2012 season. Single-game tickets will officially go on sale on August 6, less than a month from the 2012 opener.
The Wolves open the season at home for the first two games of the year, taking on Point in the opener on September 1 and Tusculum one week later on September 8. West Georgia will then spend nearly a month on the road before returning home for the Homecoming game against Valdosta State on October 6.
On Thursday, October 18, University Stadium and the Wolves back will once again be the host of the GSC-TV Live Game of the Week, as national power North Alabama and legendary coach Bobby Wallace come calling. That will be one of two televised games from University Stadium in the 2012 campaign, with the other coming on October 27 against West Texas A&M, a game that will be featured on ESPN3.
The home season winds down on November 3 as one of the newest members of the Gulf South Conference comes to town in the Shorter Hawks. Just 50 miles from Carrollton in the city of Rome, Shorter is making the transition to Division II and will be joining the GSC, giving the Wolves a second conference rival within the state.
