To make tailgating at sporting events more enjoyable and safer for all, the University of West Georgia updated its tailgating policies and procedures.
Eddie Duffey, senior associate athletic director, encourages all Wolves’ fans to tailgate. “We love to see Wolves fans, students, alumni, friends and family showing their UWG spirit before home games,” he said. “Knowing where to go, what you can bring and what you need to do ahead of time makes the entire experience more enjoyable for everyone.”
The updated policies give guidance on such things as how, when and where alcoholic beverages can be consumed; the requirements for students and student groups; and risk management practices.
For more information, the updated policies and procedures can be downloaded and printed from the UWG website.
“If you’ve never tailgated before, I personally invite you out this weekend for the Wolves’ homecoming game against the Valdosta State Blazers. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and the property gates open at 9:00 a.m.,” said Duffey. “Come experience the fun, the excitement and the howling good time to be had with other Wolves’ fans—come join the pack!”
