Employers Search for Prospective Candidates at Expo

Monday, February 4, 2013

The University of West Georgia Department of Career Services will be hosting the annual Job Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Campus Center Ballroom. Employers that will be attendance include Greenway Medical, Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, Peace Corps and Fox 5 Atlanta.

Students are not required to register in advance to attend the Expo, but they are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume to hand to employers. Students are invited to come to career services on Monday, Feb. 4, from 2 – 4 p.m. to have their resumes reviewed before the expo.

“Students should research the employers and form questions to ask and also maintain a professional attitude,” said Brenda Respress, program coordinator for career services. “Taking notes is important.”

Students are required to wear professional clothing to the event. The professional dress code is mandatory and will be enforced. Students can find examples of acceptable professional dress on the career services website.

The university photographer will be available at the event to take pictures of students in their professional attire. The students will have access to the photos and will be able to use them in professional settings.
