The Townsend Center for Performing Arts celebrated another exciting performance at “Irish Homecoming” on Jan. 19. The highly anticipated show, featuring performers such as Cherish the Ladies, Bohola, and former Riverdance members, performed to a completely sold-out theater. Tickets continue to sell quickly at the Townsend Center, and these upcoming shows are no exception.Tom Dugan in “Robert E. Lee: Shades of Gray”

The next production at the Townsend Center will be “Robert E. Lee: Shades of Gray.” This full-length play starring Tom Dugan will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. This one-man show offers insight into the life of General Robert E. Lee and his thoughts moments before his famed meeting with General Ulysses S. Grant. Tickets for the show are $8 for children, $18 for adults and $15 for senior citizens and members of the military. There are still a few coveted seats left for “Supper with the General,” a dinner and conversation with actor and playwright Tom Dugan, on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m.

Cirque Zuma ZumaContinuing its tradition of bringing culturally diverse entertainment to Carrollton, the Townsend Center will host “Cirque Zuma Zuma,” an African cirque spectacle. These acrobats, lion dancers, jugglers, singers and gymnasts from sixteen African nations were finalists on America’s Got Talent in 2011. There will be two performances, one on Thursday, March 21, and one on Friday, March 22. Both performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $15 for children, $25 for adults and $22 for senior citizens and members of the military. Cirque Zuma Zuma is so highly anticipated that the Friday show is already nearly sold out.
