UWG Continues Controversies of Culture Series

University Of West Georgia’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion will host the fourth program in its Controversies of Culture Series at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, on the first floor of the Ingram Library.

The event, titled “Refugees: Global Issues and Local Engagement,” is free and open to the public. The guest speaker is Mathew George, Associate Director of Strategy and Program Support at Refugee Family Services in Stone Mountain, Ga.

The focus of the event will be on the plight of the millions of refugees worldwide as well as the global significance of and local efforts to combat the issue. The Multicultural Conversation Series provides a forum where various members of the University of West Georgia Community can share their cultural backgrounds and experiences.

Extra credit will be available to students.
