UWG’s Achievers Host Advocacy Panel

Monday, April 15, 2013

The Achievers Organization, a student group that focuses on disability, will host its inaugural Advocacy Panel on Wednesday, April 16. The panel will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Coliseum lecture hall. The Achievers Organization has collaborated with the Counseling and Career Development Center to host this event. The panel will feature several students who volunteered to share their experiences as college students and in life.

Physical disability presents an array of challenges and experiences for college students who are affected by it. Students can find success by focusing on their abilities rather than their limitations. The Advocacy Panel will be an educational opportunity to learn more about the diversity and inclusion of students with physical disabilities at UWG. The audience is invited to ask questions during the open discussion featuring students with various physical disabilities.
