This weekend, the Michael Kaeshammer Trio will close a great season at the University of West Georgia’s Townsend Center for the Performing Arts that has seen numerous sold-out shows. The trio, lead by piano virtuoso Michael Kaeshammer, will perform on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m.
The talented trio plays music from a variety of genres including boogie-woogie, blues, jazz, reggae and pop crossover material. Nicknamed Canada’s “King of Boogie-Woogie,” Kaeshammer is an internationally acclaimed musician with superb vocals and a charismatic way of playing a grand piano. The Toronto-based artist works to include the audience in every show, inviting them to join is his performance, which really seems more like a party than anything else.
“He’s a showman,” said Bernard Perusse from the Montreal Gazette. “And showmanship is what makes people talk. If you haven’t seen him live, you haven’t experienced him in his true element.”
Tickets for the event are $22 for military and seniors, $25 for adults and $15 for children. The show is sponsored by the Dr. Richard L. Dangle Family. For more information or to purchase tickets to this and other events, please visit www.townsendcenter.org or call 678-839-4722.
