UWG to Host Blood Drive

Thursday, May 23, 2013

The University of West Georgia will host a blood drive with American Red Cross in honor of Amy Renfrow Widener on Tuesday, May 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Coliseum.

Widener is the daughter of Mike Renfrow, former UWG staff member. She is a mother of two and is a real estate agent for Keller Williams Realty. The university and the community will be able to come together on Tuesday to support the family by giving blood.

"This is an opportunity for us to be able to pitch in as a university community and the community in which we live to assist a family that is very dear to us and the university as a whole," says Eddie Duffey, UWG's senior associate athletic director.

The blood drive is open to the public. The university has a goal of obtaining 125 units and encourages the community to come out and donate.
