The University of West Georgia bookstore can add “award-winning” to its long list of attributes according to the Georgia Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America. At the 2012 annual conference, R.K. Redding Construction, the construction manager for the bookstore, received a “Build Georgia” Merit Award for their work on the project. LP3 Architecture served as architect for the bookstore.
UWG’s 23,000-square-foot bookstore provides books, school supplies, electronics and other merchandise to students, faculty and staff, as well as visitors from local and regional communities. Einstein Bros. Bagels, located on the bottom floor, offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options to visitors with an appetite.
Facilities such as the bookstore are examples of how UWG is becoming a destination university. In fact, the bookstore supports the university’s four-point plan to achieve this goal, which includes academics, a vibrant campus life, facilities to support the first two and sharing the UWG story. The bookstore not only supplies students with all that is needed for academic success, but also with spirited merchandise that encourages a vibrant campus and provides opportunities to share UWG with the community and beyond.
The bookstore is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those who cannot visit locally, UWG merchandise is just a click away at the online bookstore, including everything from backpacks and game day items to keyboards and video games.
