Dr. Scot Lingrell, University of West Georgia vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, recently presented a webinar titled “Getting It Right: Data and Good Decisions” to a national audience. The webinar was part of the EMAS Pro Thought Leadership SEMinar Series titled “Change and Transformation.”
The webinar is a follow-up and continuation of a chapter written by Lingrell in the book, Strategic Enrollment Management: Transforming Higher Education. He was invited to present the seminar after becoming active in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers Strategic Enrollment Management conference.
In his webinar, Lingrell explained three main concepts. This first of these is that culture is everything, meaning that a culture of evidence must be created in order to make good decisions. Secondly, he said that data leads to information, which leads to decisions, and, lastly, he noted that enrollment managers must engage campus partners in collaborative relationships to develop good information from data.
“Change and Transformation” is a free seminar series providing webinars on the third Thursday of each month.
