Tuesday, August 20, 2013

The Advanced Academy of Georgia will host the Inaugural Advanced Academy of Georgia Gifted and Talented College Resource Fair on Sept. 12 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Z6 Dining Commons on the University of West Georgia Campus in Carrollton, Ga. High school sophomores, juniors and seniors from the surrounding area will have the opportunity to gain valuable information about colleges and universities throughout the country as well as gifted and talented programs in the state of Georgia.

The Advanced Academy of Georgia organizes the fair for the Metro Atlanta area where high school students, parents and school counselors can learn about the college admissions process, gifted and talented resources and how to apply for scholarships and financial aid. College recruiters and counselors will be on hand to answer questions.

High school students, parents and counselors from neighboring counties and the Metro Atlanta area are encouraged to attend.

Georgia Student Finance Commission representatives will also be at the event to provide details about the HOPE scholarship, ACCEL and the www.gacollege411.org website, designed to help Georgia high school students plan and pay for a college education. Free parking will be available in the parking lot across from the Z6 during the event.

The Advanced Academy of Georgia is the premiere program for gifted and talented students in the Southeast. The Academy provides a residential based, full time, dual enrollment opportunity for students to accelerate their academic career at the University of West Georgia campus.
