University of West Georgia Biology received an Honorary Fellowship from the Association for Biotechnology and Pharmacy for distinguished and dedicated service in his field of study.
He received the award at a ceremony at the Acharya Nagarjuna University, in the region of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Mruthinti teaches developmental biology and specializes in pioneering research on the molecular mechanism of cataract formation in diabetic patients and the biochemistry of lens proteins.
Mruthinti immigrated to the states in 1986 and taught at the Medical College of Georgia for 16 years. He has been a professor at UWG since 2001.
