Science Event to Wow Audience

“The Blue Planet,” a multimedia science event, will be presented on Friday, February 19, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the University of West Georgia. “The Blue Planet,” a multimedia science event, will be presented on Friday, February 19, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the University of West Georgia.

The free event is located in the Crider Lecture Hall inside the Boyd Building and is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Professor Emeritus of Physics Ben de Mayo will host the event and the community is invited to attend. 

The Georgia Space Grant Consortium-NASA and the Departments of Physics and Continuing Education are sponsoring the event.

Everyone knows that NASA studies space; fewer people know that NASA also studies Earth. NASA operates 18 of the most advanced Earth-observing satellites ever built, helping scientists make some of the most detailed observations ever made of our world.
