Office Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide extraordinary customer service
  • Responsible for the operation of University Recreation office
  • Answer all incoming phone calls
  • Program registration for Intramural Sports, Fitness/Wellness, Outdoor Recreation &  Open Recreation/Special Events
  • Processing memberships and guest passes
  • Providing information about facility reservations  and rentals
  • Receipt all monies paid to University Recreation
  • Responsible for producing room signage, TV administration in lobby, and event reservation calendar
  • Perform established closing procedures for the office as assigned
  • Greet patrons as they enter and exit the office
  • Assist in validating access through Alarm Monitoring software and Banner verification
  • Use all resources to accurately answer all campus and UREC questions 
  • Keep quality records—phone messages, client files, program registration, etc.
  • Ensure office policies and procedures are being followed at all times
  • Carry out emergency procedures when necessary
  • Attend all training workshops as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a current University of West Georgia student
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to keep neat and accurate records
  • Must be teachable and show a willingness to learn
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Must be willing to work during office hours as assigned, typically 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Adhere to Departmental Dress Code
  • Knowledge of UWG campus preferred

HOUR: 10-15 hours/week

SALARY: Starting at $7.25/hr.
