Scope: The University of West Georgia has been awarded a grant titled University of West Georgia Institutional STEM Excellence (UWise) from the University System of Georgia Board of Regents under the STEM II Initiative program. This program is aimed at increasing the success of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors and advancing the production of science and math teachers.
As a part of this program, UWise is offering a Mini-Grant program to COSM and COE faculty for developing innovative approaches to STEM education and teacher preparation.
The grants will support projects that are designed to improve instruction and enhance success of students taking introductory STEM courses that are traditionally challenging through a variety of creative strategies that engage students, foster learning, and enhance student success and science/math teacher preparation.
