UWISE SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS (June 30 – July 26, 2013)

UWise students are required attend the Summer Bridge Program. You must agree to:

  • Live on the UWG Carrollton campus, to include Saturdays. Room and board is FREE. However, a student may be responsible for complete costs associated with the room and board if he or she is dismissed or drops out of the Summer Bridge Program.
  • Enroll in two courses (2013 Summer Session IV, June 30 – July 26). The courses are MATH 1111 (3 credit hours) and XIDS 2100 (English writing with a STEM focus; 3 credit hours, Area C1). Both fulfill core requirements.
  • Participate actively in ALL academic and social activities, including weekend excursions.

NOTE: You will have limited access to personal electronic gadgets such as cell phones, computers, and electronic games during the Summer Bridge Program.

ADDITIONAL UWISE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

UWise students participate in a year-long Freshman Learning Community in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, which includes taking pre-selected courses with a cohort of students.

The UWise Summer Bridge Program is designed to give you a head start as you transition to college, with additional support provided during your freshman year to help you succeed as a science or math major. Dismissal from the program may occur if you choose not to abide by the program requirements, as noted above.

Additionally, you may receive a $300 stipend upon successful completion of the UWise Summer Bridge Program with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
