University Advancement

The work of the Division of University Advancement focuses on providing opportunities for alumni, donors and friends of the University of West Georgia to:

• Get involved -
   by way of the legislative advocacy and/or the alumni association programs
• Change lives -
  through gifts to the university
• Be a fan -
  of the institution including its athletics programs.

The Division of University Advancement, through its four departments, strives to:

• Foster relationships with and serve the university community through fund raising, special programming and services (Development and Alumni Relations);
• Provide innovative, professional communications, and promote and support university programs to expand the public’s awareness of the university (University Communications and Marketing);
• Support the university’s academic and other departments by providing convenient and economical publications services including design, offset and quick-copy printing (Publications and Printing);
• Recognize the life-long value of athletic and academic success to the student athlete and the university community and strive to be a positive factor in achieving that success (http://www.uwgsports.com/).

In addition, the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement coordinates the efforts to secure support for the university's legislative agenda, as well as supervises the university’s programs, functions and staff, which advance the institution among its external communities. In general, the Associate Vice President and Directors initiate, promote and supervise activities that foster positive relations with alumni, prospective students, the local community, the larger community and the media.

One of the current initiatives of the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement is the Stadium Campaign.
