To be admitted into this program students must complete Core Areas A-E with a cumulative GPA (including all transfer credit) of 2.5 or better AND have earned a satisfactory grade on the Regents Reading and Essay Exams.

The Criminology program is widely conceived to include not only the study of crime and society's reaction to crime but also the areas of crime and justice that traditionally make up the disciplines of criminology and legal studies. Engineering

UWG Engineering Studies Program
Engineering - to be admitted to the RETP program, a student must be a resident of Georgia, have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, and sufficiently high SAT scores.

Engineering is the discipline of acquiring and applying scientific and technical knowledge to the design, analysis, and/or construction of works for practical purposes.

The "2+2" Regent's Engineering Transfer Program allows students to spend two years at West Georgia in a specially designed engineering track before transferring to the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The "3+2", or dual degree, program allows a student in approximately 5 academic years to obtain both a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Physics, Chemistry, or Geo-technology from West Georgia and an engineering degree from an approved engineering school.

The traditional definition of philosophy is the search for wisdom. Contemporary philosophers have a difficult time agreeing on a definition of philosophy, but many think of it as an inquiry into the most fundamental questions facing human beings. Sociology is the scientific study of society, including patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture. The Sociology degree program provides majors with a working knowledge of sociological theory and research methodologies, knowledge of findings relevant to issues of diversity, skills for the preparation and presentation of research reports, skills related to researching and seeking positions in the job market and in graduate education, and ethics.
