The Department of Art is seeking an Art Education professor, excelling in research and dedicated to teaching, for an assistant professor, tenure-track position.
Responsibilities to art education majors include: teaching undergraduate methods courses in a studio-oriented department; placement and supervision of student teachers; advisement of majors; directing the art education program and service on undergraduate capstone committees. The successful candidate will continue with their personal scholarship, with a focus on working towards tenure, while maintaining professional affiliations with local, state and national art education associations.
The ideal candidate has K-12 teacher certification, successful teaching experiences in the public school system, an M.A., M.F.A. or Ph.D. in art education, and dedication to scholarly research or studio practice.
The position begins August 2012.
