In addition, the following scholarships are available to art majors and have specific requirements such as areas of study and grade point average:

  1. Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts Scholarship
  2. Betty Andre Memorial Scholarship
  3. Marianne Bobick Memorial Scholarship
  4. Joyce Entrekin Harris Scholarship
  5. Mittie Brooks Johnson Memorial Scholarship
  6. Bessie Curran Kepp Scholarship
  7. Grace Richards Memorial Scholarship
  8. Roush Family Scholarship
  9. Helen Hunt Whatley Scholarship
  10. David Dugan, Jr. Art Scholarship

Portfolio submissions are required of all applicants for departmental scholarships and awards. Funding is also available to purchase student art work at the Annual Art Student Show. These works become part of the permanent collection of the Department of Art and are placed in public areas on campus. Other departments on campus purchase student work as well.  The College of Education, School of Business, the Offices of the President and Vice President, and others have purchased work in the past. In addition, Art majors are eligible for all grants and scholarships offered by University of West Georgia.
