2005 Student Inductees
Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma
BETA GAMMA SIGMA, founded in 1913, is the only national scholastic honor society in the field of business administration recognized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, International. This year is the 92 nd anniversary for the National Beta Gamma Sigma and 21 st for the University of West Georgia chapter.
Induction into Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest academic honor that the Richards College of Business bestows. An invitation to join is based on grade point average and is only offered to the top seven percent of second-semester juniors, top ten percent of seniors, and top twenty percent of graduate students with majors in the RCOB. At the annual ceremony held March 16, the RCOB welcomed to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma these individuals:

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Each year the University of West Georgia Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma recognizes a highly deserving student selected by the RCOB faculty from the top three Beta Gamma Sigma students with the highest grade point average. Since these three all have extremely high GPAs, the deciding factors are their non-academic background, other activities, and prior honors. This year the recipient of the Award of Excellence is Marina Filiuhina.
CHAPTER COMMUNITY HONOREE
Additionally, at the annual induction ceremony, community leaders Fred Hutchins and Fred O'Neal were recognized for their business leadership, positive community action, and support of education as the 2005 Chapter Honorees of the Beta Gamma Sigma.
