Annual Big Night!!
Preliminary Competition

The Richards College of Business (RCOB) at the University of West Georgia recently completed the selection process to identify one student research project to be presented at the universityıs evening of student scholarship known as Big Night! Dustin Poole from Rome was chosen as the finalist from among six presentations.
 
 
Poole will present his research on the "2004 Forecast of Gasoline Sales at Haney's Gas and Grocery" at Big Night! on April 14. His research was sponsored by Dr. Michael Raper, associate professor of economics.

Big Night! is hosted annually by the Student Association for Research and Creative Humanities. Competitions for the honor of presenting research are conducted in the arts, education, business and humanities and winning students then make a 10-minute research presentation at Big Night! All other submissions are accepted for display as exhibits after the presentations.

Other RCOB students who competed for the finalist spot included Adam Worsham of Fayetteville and Kelly Palmer of St. Louis, Mo. who presented "The Employee-Organization 'Fit' and Customer Service Performance." This project was sponsored by Dr. Jonathan Anderson, assistant professor of management and business systems.

Jason Thogmartin of Carrollton presented "Broadcast Media: A Radio Simulation." Thogmartin's work was sponsored by Dr. Robert Pearce, associate professor of business administration. Pearce also sponsored Douglasville native Alistair Cruickshank who presented "Express Vehicle Delivery Services."

Ksenia Kulakova, an international student from the Russian Republic of Koni, conducted her research under the direction of Dr. David Bolt, associate professor of economics and department chair. Kulakova's presentation was titled "Forestry Issues in the Republic of Komi."

Benjamin Aye-Addo of Villa Rica presented "The Radio Frequency Identification Tag, RFID, Its Benefits and the Future." Addo's research was sponsored by Dr. Douglas Turner, assistant professor of business administration.
