Annual Big Night!!
Preliminary Competition

The Richards College of Business (RCOB) at the University of West Georgia recently completed the selection process to identify one student research project to be presented at the universityıs evening of student scholarship known as Big Night! Kim Holder was chosen as the finalist from among eight presentations.
 
 
Holder will present her research on the "Building Tomorrow's County: Mechanisms of Employment Growth" at Big Night! on April 3. Her research was sponsored by Dr. William J. Smith, Associate Professor of Economics.

Big Night! is hosted annually by the Student Association for Research and Creative Humanities. Competitions for the honor of presenting research are conducted in the arts, education, business and humanities and winning students then make a 10-minute research presentation at Big Night! All other submissions are accepted for display as exhibits after the presentations.

Other RCOB students who competed for the finalist spot included Marcia Cole and Kim Holder who presented "Solving Rubik's cube: Determinants of Student Success." This project was sponsored by Dr. David Boldt, Department of Economics.

Anna Obedkova presented "Influence of Socio-Emotional Processes on Virutal Teams." This was sponsored by Dr. Eric Bergiel, and Ms. Beth Clenney, Department of Management.

Shellie Grimes and Norris Ford, presented "College Students & Video Games". This was sponsored by Dr. Jack Wei, Department of Marketing and Real Estate.

Jacob Lovvell presented "The Georgia Water Problem: An Austrian Perspective". This was sponsored by Dr. James Murphy, Department of Economics.

Ari Siesser and Joshua Almond presented "Six Flags and the Marketing Carnival". This was sponsored by Dr. Beheruz Sethna, Department of Marketing & Real Estate.

Jason Bapna and Justin McDonald presented "The Pizza Pair: A Critique of the Marketing Carnival". This was sponsored by Dr. Beheruz Sethna, Department of Marketing & Real Estate.

Corey Drum and Danna Jones presented "Rachel's Wish Foundation: Students Connecting with the Community at Large". This was sponsored by Ms. Mimi Rickard, Department of Marketing & Real Estate.
